About

I'm Katarina — a Staff UX Designer and Design Lead based in Berlin. Curiosity is probably the most accurate word for how I work. I find new tools, new methods, and new ways of thinking genuinely exciting — not as a professional obligation, but because figuring things out is just what I like doing.

No challenge really feels like a problem to me. Unclear briefs, messy systems, teams that haven't found their rhythm yet — these are interesting, not intimidating. The thing that does slow me down is the absence of challenge. Boredom and slow pace are my biggest enemies.

That curiosity shows up in how I learn as much as in what I build. I pick up new methods the way some people pick up hobbies — quickly, obsessively, and usually because something wasn't working well enough with what I already knew. OOUX, AI-powered prototyping, vibe coding, design systems thinking — I didn't learn these because a job required it. I learned them because the problem in front of me made them interesting.

The role is changing — what designers do, what tools they use, where they sit in the process. I pay close attention to that, not out of anxiety but out of interest. I want to be someone who shapes what the job becomes, not someone who catches up to it later.

Outside of day-to-day work, I received an honorable nomination for the Hiša Franko website, and I'm a Top Mentor on MentorCruise — rated 5.0 across 21 reviews, helping designers navigate their UX careers.
